By accessing or using Preffus ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Preffus is a community-driven platform where users rate and review books based on content categories such as romance, violence, language, and darkness. The Service also provides book discovery, book lists, and links to purchase books through third-party retailers.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- One person may not maintain more than one account.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of the ratings, reviews, and book lists you create. By submitting content, you grant Preffus a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and use that content as part of the Service.
You agree not to submit content that:
- Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
- Contains spam, advertising, or solicitation
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
- Is intentionally false or misleading
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.
5. Affiliate Links
Preffus participates in the Amazon Associates Program. Links to Amazon are affiliate links, and Preffus earns a commission on qualifying purchases made through these links at no additional cost to you.
6. Book Data
Book information displayed on Preffus is sourced from Open Library and Google Books. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that book data (titles, descriptions, cover images, page counts, etc.) is complete or error-free.
7. Content Ratings Disclaimer
Content ratings on Preffus are submitted by community members and reflect subjective opinions. They are not professional assessments. Ratings may not capture all content in a book, and individual perceptions of content intensity may vary. Use ratings as a guide, not as a definitive assessment.
8. Prohibited Conduct
- Attempting to access other users' accounts
- Using automated tools to scrape or interact with the Service
- Interfering with the operation of the Service
- Circumventing any security features
- Using the Service for any unlawful purpose
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
10. Limitation of Liability
Preffus is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to reliance on content ratings or reviews.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
